Aging Oak

We were working on the hill side above Loch Eilt today, roughly midway between Glenfinnan (birthplace of Conner MacLeod) and Lochailort. The heat was blistering today and this was a particularly steep bit of hill side to cart survey gear up. It was exhausting.
This oak tree looks pretty exhausted too. I did some quick research while the blip was uploading and on appearance and diameter (I am a thirty second expert) this tree could be well over 400 years old. These hills have seen a lot of Bonny Prince Charlie related history. When the 1745 standard was raised at Glenfinnan a few miles away this tree was probably already over a hundred years old.
