A Day Worth Recording

Drop

We went and bought some snowdrops and primulas today, and surveyed what the nursery also had available for future trips.  It's not going to be trivial to get a garden this size looking good and balanced.  As it is the planting today looked rather a drop in the ocean, but nice to get some things of ours in.

Leaded-glass restorers arrived today to fix the broken panes in the entrance hall.  Only a small percentage were broken but it does look disproportionately better without them.

Next on their list (for when it's warmer) is to extract and restore the two stained-glass panels from the office (which are in a rather sorry state). When working in the basement recently I'd spotted the corner of a third hidden behind discarded doors. I'd assumed it was plain but fighting my way to it I found it was an impressive coat of arms.  Heaven knows what it was doing there. Assuming we'll get that one restored too.

Should manage it as a future blip just as soon as blipping steps back from emergency mode.

Went out to a B&B-owners networking meal tonight.  Friendly bunch.
