Fish Shop

The village of Thorpeness in Suffolk, where we have been staying for the last few days, was founded in the 1920s as a holiday resort and is well maintained and very attractive.  However, this building on the edge of the village seems to indicate that not all the businesses established there have managed to survive.  Perhaps the fish stalls in nearby Aldeburgh, where the fishermen sell their catch from the previous night, proved too much competition.

This building, the only thatched building I noticed in the village, may pre-date the building of the holiday resort.  The site was previously just a small fishing hamlet.
