Lilly Loch

The weather forecast for Wednesday was for heavy rain, interspersed with light showers and occasional dry spells - not what one wants to read before going out on a Ramblers' walk.

Despite that forecast, however, our walk around Hillend Loch and Lilly Loch (sometimes spelt Lily Loch) near Caldercruix was blessed with dry weather throughout. We had a blustery, cold wind for much of the day but we were surprised and delighted that the rain didn't materialise until much later, and certainly after we had completed our walk.

One of the better Wednesday walks - varied terrain, pleasant scenery in places, a good pace, good company - and, of course, the better-than-expected weather.
