Great Uncle Percy, we found you...

Day 5 Belgium
Very, very wet today so after packing up the car we drove to Passchendaele memorial Museum  which was a really great way to spend a relentlessly soggy day. It also made it easier to empathise with the churning mud conditions of the war.
They had full scale dug outs and trenches (the trenches being outside - so very realistic!)

There was an excellent restaurant on the site so we had a good late lunch too.

On the way to the ferry we looked up the burial place of Fred's Great Uncle Percy - and here he lies. It was one of the very small graves outside a little village outside Ypres and we wouldn't have found it without looking it up carefully with assistance from Fred's brother. Fred has his medals in a frame in our bedroom. He was 28 when he died, the same age as Greg now... and he was in charge of men... makes you think!

Ferry and home to Myki who was very affectionate!
