Heron

Up and out of bed earlier this morning so I had a bit of time to potter around before body pump. Had an early lunch and then managed a short walk along the Thames Path to Caversham. Husband was walking through gritted teeth for most of the way, having to stop every now and then to try and release the pain in his back. We stopped to get a few bits to make a curry for tea at the huge Tesco on the way back . The sun came out as we were almost back to the car. Nice to be out and about even if it was not very far. 

The heron was standing at the lock peering into the river. I love the texture of the feathers on his wings. It looks like he's wearing a grey cloak.
