Crazy About Birds

Snow Again!

We are rather unexpectedly having a good deal of snow today. Not unexpected in the sense of no snow at all being predicted, but the 2" to 4" we were led to expect has turned into at least 6" to 8" - maybe more - and it has yet to stop. In theory it's going to turn into sleet/ice and then rain by tomorrow morning. We'll see. All I know is I've been out shoveling places to toss food for the critters, only to see them covered up completely in about 15 minutes. "Rinse and repeat" as the shampoo people say.

One rather nice feature of the snow is that a whole lot more birds have now discovered the window feeder. I've had a Song Sparrow, and a Nuthatch, and a Junco to add to the usual Titmice, Pine Siskins, Wrens and occasional Chickadee.
