The Early Bird

To beat the hideous traffic jams in the morning, I now have to leave for work at 6:25am for my 12km trip to the Oman Tourism College. Leaving at this time, my trip takes around 13mins with an average speed of about 60kmh (37mph).

If I leave any later, every car in the city appears magically before me and it takes 40 minutes (if I'm lucky) which is an average speed of around 18kmh (11mph).

To summarise, I don't start work till 8am, but have to get up at 6am to make my 12km trip to work bearable.
