Crocuses

It was quite cold last night and this morning these crocuses were still covered in dew drops - there was lovely sunshine this morning but now it is raining and the sort of afternoon for just staying indoors.

A quiet day at home, I spent the morning making arrangements for some university visits - Adam has an offer holder visit to Imperial College this week and Luke has an offer holder visit to Durham University in March which Gavin and I are also going to attend. He was lucky enough to get his first choice college confirmed last week so he is rather pleased about that (unlike other collegiate universities, they like to allocate colleges to candidates so that there is a good mix of students in each college, and so one does not often get the college that one requests). I am quite excited about visiting Durham, I have never been 'up north' before!

I am very much enjoying 'H is for Hawk' by Helen MacDonald, it is very well written and is not just an autobiography about falconery but also a story of grief and how the author came to terms with it. It deserves the awards which it has won and I would recommend it.
