The Worminator
I was going to go on and on about the disappointment of leaving the flat in gorgeous and almost warm sunshine and getting to the Wetlands Centre at Barnes as the clouds rolled up and it all turned cold and miserable - but what's the point? You won't enjoy it and I won't enjoy remembering it!
I did catch a few bird snaps - lesser black-backed gull, moorhens, teal and a few grebes but this lethal hunter-killer male blackbird with his beak full of fleshy spaghetti pleased me the most. I guess with yesterday's rain and the already high water table it was the blackbird equivalent of a turkey shoot and I saw him spear five or six unfortunate worms in a matter of a few minutes.
