A familiar view but not as we know it!

After a busy day of work at home we sorted out some old magazines. This photo comes from the Autumn 1972 edition of BR (British Rail's)  complimentary "in carriage" magazine. Travelling.  

It is packed with advertisements for cigars. cigarettes, Cross Channel hover craft services,  Pan Am's new terminal at Kennedy and a football feature on the qualifying tournament for the 1974 World Cup qualifiers.  ( A topical link to today's decision by FIFA for a Christmas World Cup in Qatar in 2022!)

But what about that view of a familiar scene in the light traffic, tramless days. of 1972? It took me a few minutes to work out what was wrong with the photo. Are you quicker than me to spot the London publisher's serious error?
