The Wren

Après le deluge

This walk is one we do frequently and it is in fact a desert flood basin designed to take excess water draining from roads on the fairly infrequent times it rains. Unlike in areas like the UK where rainfall is common and a good road drainage system is inbuilt at the planning stage, this system has been built recently to prevent roads here becoming very quickly flooded and unpassable as an individual road drainage system does not really exist. The sun is low in the sky, highlighting the top of the hills and Kymba is in heaven as she has found water in the hollow of the desert plain. The sharp dip in temperature of the last few days is still lingering but at least the sun came out today to warm things up. Despite this the girls needed to be warmly wrapped up and they enjoyed the fresh air from the protection of the buggy. As you can see, this walk is a far cry from the hills of Perthshire where my dogs are lucky enough to roam but it is home to Kymba and she loves it.
