One of nine

A morning walk around the centre of Newcastle and I found this bench. Obviously there are apparently nine of these and I’m sure they will have been blipped before, but they were new to me. I didn’t sit on the bench, but I did a fair bit of thinking in the afternoon.

A seminar on the book Fingersmith by Sarah Waters was very lively, with many views and lots of discussion, led by our inspired lecturer. I found a copy on our bookshelves, but had never read it. I hurtled through it this week, finishing it half an hour before the session started. I loved it; several people were on their second or even third reading of it; some hated it. Great when that happens.
