I am sure that to some of you A P McCoy is a household name. Perhaps the greatest National Hunt jockey of all time, AP has recently announced his retirement at the end of this season.

It was a thrill to see him in action today at Huntingdon. Here he is returning triumphant on Fredo, somewhat blasé at notching up yet another winner. And I had a bet on him so I came away on the day only a little bit down on the bookies.
