Whose garden is it anyway?

An abortive trip back to Oxford today, didn't get past Brodick as the boat had an engine fault and couldn't sail all day. So I went to Brodick, waited for more information, then came home and walked the dog and helped with a bit more unpacking. Mum has moved back to Lochranza, well known for its wildlife, which treats the whole village as its own - seals who take over the ferry slip, golden eagles who old up construction, and deer who actually do own the whole place. The people who own this house probably think their garden is theirs. They are deluded! Mum has a better fence than this house does, so for the sake of the flowers she will be planting, we hope the deer will be kept out!
