The Edge of the Wold

Old Man and the sea...

...well, the Kent estuary.

A day without a single cloud, we don't get many of those in Cumbria. There were no chances to escape at lunchtime today as I was working to complete a couple of deadlines before the weekend. But there was a little time after dinner to watch the sun go down over the Lake District.

This was the last shot of the day. The Old Man of Coniston is the mountain with the notchy peak. There is another four weeks or so until the longest day, so there will be a day when from this perspective the sun will sink directly behind the Old Man.
