Municipal Buildings

After the private luxury of yesterday's picture I decided to return to the public realm. This is the main entrance to the Municipal Buildings, 8-10 Corn Exchange Road, Stirling. It was designed in 1908 and the foundation stone laid in 1914. The first meeting of the town council in this building took place on 8th March 1918 so maybe I should have waited till Sunday to post this. Ah well, too bad here it is today.

It's actually a lovely building, inside and out. It's still used for Council services though it's been through a good few changes in nearly 100 years. It's still standing though, unlike the Council HQ built in the 1970s which was mercifully demolished last year.

A happy weekend everyone
