a lifetime burning

"Pop Up" Parlour

Tonight was the first night of the Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival at the Colston Hall.  I went to see Aynsley Lister play, amongst others, and very good he was too.

I thought that I was going to blip some photos from his set, but while I was wandering around before the gig, I came across these 3 enchanting ladies, who run a Pop Up beauty parlour specialising in vintage makeovers.  They were so visually entertaining that I forgot all about the moody black and white shots I had been planning and (bravely) went over and asked them if they would mind my taking their photos.... and here is one of the results.

Apparently they get booked for hen parties, tea parties and any number of vintage and revival events, as well as corporate do's and wedding hair and make up.  They seemed to be having a very jolly time and I expect they would be great fun for any of those - but I wasn't tempted to let them anywhere near me!
