Rain Drops One by One

It had been fine and warm all night and this morning was overcast so I thought after lunch I would go for a walk.. that is when it started to rain. It started but didn't come to much so could have gone out!

I took this shot in the light rain of the second flowering of the Rhododendron with the rain drops on it. The colour of the Rhododendron isn't as strong as the first flowering in Spring. They say when they flower twice it is because of unusually warm weather in Autumn and that convinces them Spring has arrived.

I have been called Arty-farty at times so thought I would look it up to find out where the saying came from, which I found interesting.

Meaning:
Pertaining to, or having an interest in, the arts - often pretentiously and affectedly so.

Origin:
This UK term refers to the sort of artistic work or interest that the Bonzo Dog Band's Vivian Stanshall called "Art with a capital F". It began to be used in the 1960s, whilst the variant preferred in the USA, 'artsy-fartsy', is recorded from the early 1970s.

The use of the vulgar 'farty' as the reduplicated variant of 'arty' works well in puncturing the pomposity of the affectedly artistic types who are mocked by this term.
