CannyScot's Day

Madmen together

A very wet , blustery day.

After the excitement of the previous day's tennis we were at my sister's house. My son, Paul, went out with my brother-in-law, Joe, to the local Park Run. The weather was atrocious, with strong winds and torrential rain. I did think they were mad. However, my son still posted his fastest Park Run (5 KM) time ever of just over 22 minutes. It was Joe's first Park Run (he is used to running on his own for much longer distances) but he was pleased that he ran under 25 minutes.

We got home in time to watch another amazing Davis Cup match - the doubles - when the American pair, who are number 1 in the world, were soon up by two sets to love. Then started a great comeback by the British pair, who had never played together professionally before, and they managed to reach 7-7 in the fifth set before losing 9-7. So the Tie is nicely poised at 2 matches to 1 - all will be decided on Sunday, when Andy Murray and James Ward play again. One win by either of them will mean that Great Britain win the Tie - if you can be near a Television at 1.00pm tomorrow, I recommend you watch the excitement.
