"Pull!"

Thinking I might take a few shots of birds today, I went to my usual spot beside the river at Caversham Bridge. It took me a while to find a parking space, and I soon found found out why: there was a rowing event going on. So while I did indeed snap a few birds, I also watched all sorts of boats and configurations of rowers going past down the river. 

I know nothing at all about rowing, but I did notice that in the boats without a cox, the rowers seemed to be getting on with their rowing with calm, even serene expressions on their faces. Those being shouted at by a small person in the stern, however, showed very visible signs of stress and effort!
