If you can't beat them...

The Hadrian.

After doing some "sussing out" of the route earlier in the week we decided to go to and try for some Steam Engine shots.  First we went to a place close to home only to find that we had missed it.  This was partly due to a road closure and partly due to the train being 23 minutes early.   Do ordinary timetabled passenger trains every keep to time let alone arrive early?

Next we moved up to Wetheral Station where we managed a shot of  "The Hadrian" The train was being pulled by Leander  No. 45690  a Jubilee class followed (I think the correct term is double headed) with Lancashire Fusilier a Class 5MT  No 45407.

I will believe what the enthusiasts told me as I didn't see the second loco for steam and smoke.  This is the train just coming out from under the bridge at the station.
