Pre MonoMonday: Exits and Entrances

A reminder for everyone that the MonoMonday Challenge theme for the coming week is Exits and Entrances.  You will need to tag your entries for March 9th as mm58.

I have been in London today for a singing day held at the National Portrait Gallery near Trafalgar Square.  The NPG is creating opportunities to combine different facets of the arts, and the Singing Day (open to everyone) links choral pieces with the current Gallery exhibition.
I confess not to having heard of the painter John Singer Sergent whose portraits of friends form the new exhibition.  We sang a few pieces by composers such as Duke Ellington, Holst and Copland which fitted with the time when Sergent was painting.

It is quite a relaxed day, run by the Artistic Director of The Portrait Choir - a group of young up and coming professional singers, and he is amazingly patient and positive with us older singers who come from the more ordinary choirs around the area.

Do go and see the 'Sergent' Exhibition if you can or just drop into this wonderful gallery.  Painted portraits have a lot to offer the photographer as the composition techniques are very similar.
