Teddy Bear's Picnic

It's a glorious day out there and what better way to enjoy it than to head off to the Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair at Hardwick Hall. While the sun beat down giving us a healthy dose of Vitamin D (not to mention eyefuls of, sometimes rather too much, flesh .... why oh why does style and decorum go out the window when the sun comes out and leave us witnessing untold vistas of cleavage, belly buttons and bum cracks!) , a happy couple of hours were spent tasting samples of the full range of local produce on offer.

Over one hundred and fifty stalls were showcasing the best local produce from Derbyshire and the Peak District region, as well as unique and exotic foods from further afield. And, back by popular demand, TV chef Simon Rimmer was the celebrity demonstrator in the cookery theatre, alongside renowned Derbyshire chefs, demonstrating their signature dishes.

There was also a popular arts and crafts section housed over 30 local artists and crafts people displaying their wares, ranging from contemporary art to traditional craftworks.

I happened upon The Three Bears (sans Goldilocks) at a stall selling granola and other healthy cereals and whilst I wasn't too bothered by the product, I was very drawn to the cute way in which the stallholder marketed it! I enjoy this picture just for the very simplicity of it.

The festival runs over the weekend so if any of you who live locally have no plans for tomorrow, I can recommend a visit to the fair and a wander around Hardwick to while away a couple of sunny hours!!
