Printer's Devil

Well over 40 years ago I was indentured as an apprentice compositor at the oldest established printers in York. As a result, I became the company printer's devil following a similar path to such people of Benjamin Franklin, Mark Twain and John Kellogg. This printer's devil still survives above a shop on Stonegate in York. The second part of the photo is the building I started my apprenticeship a short walk away on Grape Lane. The print industry I started in back then had changed little in its 500 year history. Loved it back then and do so now.
