Little Gate

9.3C starting dull, then rainy for a time before clearing through the afternoon. Wind to 24 mph with gusts to 33 mph, with stronger winds forecast for the evening and night.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk later today once the rain had cleared. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road towards Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore. There were lots of white topped waves running in towards the shore over the rocks.

As we passed by the front of Panbride House I thought this little gate, which leads from the road to the big pond in the now very overgrown garden, might fit the bill for Mono Monday on the theme Exits and Entrances. Panbride House has been lying empty since Liz McColgan's business went bust. Now repossessed by the bank it will no doubt be starting to deteriorate. The little Lodge House we pass if we go down the bridle path already needs slates replaced on the roof.

We came home along the cycle path and round in a long loop, heading into Carnoustie then up the main road before turning along for home.
