So I explained to the horse that , no, regrettably I had backed the horse that came second to win. So I lost out.

Meanwhile, down at Cheltenham, Somersby came in second in the big race at 33-1. My friend had an each way on it so did very well. I had a "notional" bet on Dodging Bullets, i.e. I pretended I had backed it to win. And blow me, it won. And I didn't put any actual real money down. Oh well. Maybe next time.
