The Edge of the Wold

Stepping towards the spotlight

It used to be a solitary gull that always appeared in my estuary shots, now it's a single redshank - here stepping towards the spotlight of the westering sun.  When I came home from another day in Warrington, there was no sign of Wifie and Gus, so I ventured out on my own hoping to see a bit of sunlight before it disappeared.  And I found it in the dip near Holgates (from our house it is difficult to tell because Arnside Knott blocks the view of the west).

Thank goodness for weekends.
