Gathering Storm

We had a wonderful lunch at our favourite Sitges restaurant after a nearly six-hour drive from Murcia. And for the first time we had calçots, a seasonal Catalan speciality of leeks roasted over hot coals and burned on the outside. Pinching one end, you pull the interior out by the leafy end and dip in a wonderful sauce before throwing back your head to lower them into your mouth from a raised hand. Absolutely delicious, but so messy they provide you with a special bib. Then it was back to our hotel with its sea view from our balcony, and participation in a chaotic FB discussion about writing and music. Home tomorrow night but first we have to pass through a horrible storm scheduled to smash the southern French coast tomorrow morning.
