Walking on glass

A memorable Saturday. I spent the day in London with my lovely daughter, on an eve of Mother's Day outing that she organised for me. We started the day at Tower Bridge where we were both excited to experience the glass walkway. It was really fun, with great views and a weird feeling standing on glass with people and traffic far below us on the bridge.

It was interesting to see an animated video showing showing how the bridge was built, and to visit the engine room which used to operate the bridge opening. The road still lifts to let water traffic through more than 900 times a year.

Then we went to a smart hotel near Westminster Abbey for afternoon tea with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Gorgeous food was accompanied by tea, coffee and glasses of champagne.

Now home again feeling nicely full, pampered and happy.
