Family Treasures

Going through boxes of family papers with my sister has turned up some treasures from my father's early years, including this passenger list and luggage tag from his journey from New York to Puerto Rico with his maternal uncle and aunt.

I'll blip his long, handwritten letter to his parents in Missouri, in which he recounts his travel across the United States after I'm home and back on my iMac... assuming this website is still active. It's more attractive than the 365Project.org that a number of blippers I follow have recently mentioned, but if moving there is what it will take to stay in touch with my friends here, I'll do it.

Today's pleasures included the arrival of my nephew D and his daughter E, a four-hour drive for them. After breakfast we went to a local farmers' market, relishing the perfect weather and the many appealing goods on offer. This afternoon my sister and I delved into her stash of quilt squares from an old family quilt, some of which she will work into a new quilt for me. This evening we'll be joined by nephew A, niece E, and several other folks for supper, which will include a variety of gelatos and sorbettos from the farmers' market.
