Geography fieldwork

This was such a fantastic find while on our geography fieldwork trip in Wytham Woods on the outskirts of Oxford. I was on the ecology option, and there was also a choice for geomorphology. We were in groups of 5 and spent the day measuring certain characteristics of trees which will hopefully help us write a 2000 word fieldwork report. However, I'm not quite sure how we get to that point from the data.

The weather was atrocious and rained all day, we got rather damp and a little cold. It was a shame because it would surely have been more enjoyable in better weather. That being sad, we were dubbed the happy group which was a nice thing and I did actually have a nice day despite the weather. Being in the middle of a forest is a welcome change from the city and libraries.

We noticed this heart-shaped moss within the leaf litter while wandering around our one hectare plot that we were assigned. Such a cool coincidence!
