S.A.D

Spent last night staying in Pwllheli with friend and Betty Blue skipper Martin who is there doing a week-long Yachtmaster theory course.

As it happens, I have work in Pwllheli anyway, acting as an arts consultant for the new Welsh National Sailing Academy called Plas Heli now being built. Due to complete this summer we have commissioned artist Jessica Lloyd-Jones to create an LED light artwork that will be responsive to both wind speed and direction. This is an early architectural model found yesterday in Pwllheli Yacht Club. Seems fitting with 2015 being UNESCO International Year of Light and Lighting Technologies and all.

Martin is here with his family all week and there is even a flyfishing lake near his holiday let to tempt me with. Sadly I can't stop any longer as MrsB is leaving on Wednesday to fly home to Maldives for 7 weeks without me. She has recently been diagnosed as heavily Vitamin D deficient and so needs some sunshine to repair her bones. Didn't realise but it is a big problem for South Asians living in the more extreme northern and southern latitudes. SAD is the word.
