KIPLINGCOTES

The oldest horse race in England, the Kiplingcotes Derby, was run today in East Yorkshire.

Originating from 1519, the race has taken place annually ever since.

A good crowd viewed the event and this photo shows the competitors listening to the race rules before setting off for the start.

 

Today 22 runners took the 4 mile course and the winning horses were :

Winner – Prince, Second – Bob and Third – Mr P.
