LIFE IN RUINS

Wharram Percy - The Lost Medieval Village
WP is located in East Yorkshire and has been occupied by humans since the Iron Age. Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Normans have all lived out their lives in this high-wold village.

It was a huge site between the 12th and 14th centuries, but was finally abandoned in 1500.
As an archaeological site, it was one of the most important archaeological digs in England. Here are the remains of St. Martin's Parish Church, alongside a recreated fishpond.

A bit of HDR filter treatment has been given to this image.
