The Jaws of Death

This is more of a 'Demolition Thursday' entry rather than 'Derelict Thursday'.
Today the heavy machinery finally started munching its way through Sunwin House in Harrogate, formerly home to Beales Department store, and the Coop prior to that. It was a rather ugly and soulless concrete box of a structure erected in the late 50's and won't be missed.
It is very inconsiderate of the redevelopers to erect screens around the site as it means us blippers have to balance precariously on benches and other street furniture to get a shot! It can be fascinating watching these machines munch through concrete and steel with such ease.

It is encouraging to hear that BlipFoto may itself be spared from the jaws of death. Let us hope so.
