Partial Eclipse ........

..... and how many photos of this have been taken today ?

I arrived at my destination not at 9.30 am, but a few minutes late. And this is the reason. I apologised - but hey ho, I'll be eleven years older when this happens again, so what is a few minutes between friends ! And I was not alone in taking a slight detour to have a look.

The viewing conditions were about perfect. A bit of cloud masked the sun enough to look with the naked eye, but not enough to prevent a good view of the partial eclipse.

Today is also the vernal equinox, and the UN designated international day of happiness ("the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal". That sounds like one of those exam questions - Discuss)
