HEDGE TRIMMING FOR DUMMIES

It was a book fair at the village hall today and it seems you can get a book about everything these days. How to make an emergency shelter with hedge trimmings. Cream of hedge trimming soup. Rocket fuel using hedge trimmings.

I didn't buy it. Nor the Pews, Benches and Chairs of Churches through the ages; or the large photographic book I picked up and was flicking through when I noticed a man looking at the images over my shoulder. By then I seemed to be well in to a nudes section and either had to flick faster, thereby turning it into a pornographic flip-book, or nonchalantly put the book down and walk away. I put it down and walked away.

We did buy: Menlove by Jim Perrin; The Longest Climb by Dominic Faulkner; Seeing Stars by Simon Armitage; and a large book with gorgeous photographs about the Shakers.

I am now going to settle down with the Shakers and watch the rugby over the top of it.
