Le Chat des Voisins ...

... the neighbors's cat, in the building adjoining ours in Paris, directly around the corner, one floor below us. We're on the fourth floor, and I took this shot from our back bedroom window. S/he was as curious as I was. We had never seen her beAfore during the entire eight years we've stayed in this building (including previously in the one directly below--which would have had a horizontal perspective :)

Today was the final weekend of the annual Six Nations Rugby  tournament, which pits the four teams from the British Isles against France and Italy. The three matches today were unusually tense, with Ireland, England and Wales tied, separately only by the total point difference in their previous matches.  The final match was France against England--one of the best I've ever seen. England led clearly after the start, in a high-scoring duel, and at the end had the chance to score enough points to edge out Ireland in the standings. But they fell short. A very engrossing afternoon.

We watch the tournament every year, on five weekends during our three winter months in Paris.  I find rugby a much more enjoyable sport to watch than American football--it's far more continuous--the action is overwhelmingly fluid and open.  If you're a skeptical American, try watching a match or two :)
