Nine's Kitchen

We said goodbye to our friends Nine and Didier this morning and took a noon train from Rennes back to Paris. As part of our farewell, this is a blip of Nine's small kitchen, again to demonstrate her decorating skills (see her study last Wednesday). It's the corner opposite a large window with a garden view over the sink, next to stove and refrigerator. The living room sofa is visible through the door, with Nine sitting near her lovely quilt.  You also see a few of the hens and rooster tchotchkes that Nine collected for a time.

The train ride was uneventful.  Evening news showed Obama with Raoul Castro--what a good milestone on the road to reconciliation with Cuba. And afterwards France 3 showed a wonderful two-hour film on the singer Johnny Hallyday--fascinating, with lots of interesting details. As the Wiki article notes, he is a true "icon in the French-speaking world."

Next day: I've added an image of a wood pigeon fluffing its plumage after we returned to Paris
