Sunsetting

Early breakfast. Then busy morning at the conference - gave my paper at 9am this morning. It seemed to be well received. After lunch, I mouched (is that how you spell it? Corrected thanks Booky) mooched back to the hotel, and had a bit of a rest, before being picked up by a friend at the back of 6pm. Went round to his place - lovely to see S and V as they've been having a pretty rough time recently. Also lovely to see their boys who are growing up quite wonderfully.

I arrived just as the sun was finally disappearing. As you can see there was heavy cloud cover then. It disappeared - at least partially - later on, and we were back out on the balcony peering into S's new telescope, through which you could see Jupiter and - just - its moons. Apparently the view was better yesterday, and you could see the stripes on Jupiter and the redness of Mars. Hey ho. Just my luck.

Pleasant evening catching up, and then walked back to the hotel, most of the way with S chewing the cud on prospects, etc.

Hoping for a good sleep with nothing apart from a pile of work and a long train journey to get up for in the morning.
