Arley Hall - before shot

Some gardening this morning.

Then in the afternoon, to Arley Hall gardens for some inspiration.

Arley is an absolute gem. I love the walled gardens, which change with the seasons, the highlight of which for me is this herbaceuous border. I have never been this early in the year, and it is such a contrast to high summer. Where are all the plants ? Well, they are there and emerging from the ground as can be seen, but tentatively for now. I will have to blip a shot from the same spot in July when it is a riot of colour, and the plants completely change the structure of this view.

There were a lot of people around. Lots of kids with Mums, Dads and Grandparents following a new fairies and trolls trail. The birds were singing, and everything looked very fine in the sunshine.
