Ramblings and Mutterings

BONKERS!

BONKERS!

I think that’s the best way to describe the rugby today.  At the start of the day three teams had a chance of winning the championship, England, Ireland and Wales, with Wales having the most to do being 20 points behind the others.  So we knew if Wales were to have a chance they had to score a significant amount of points against Italy, things didn’t start well though and at half time they were barely in the lead.  Cue the MADNESS!  Wales blitzed Italy with try after try and all of a sudden the championship was on, and the point’s difference was 23 points in their favour all of a sudden, although a late Italian try gave Ireland and England some hope.

So next up were the reigning champions, Ireland and they started like they meant business, and they didn’t stop as they steamrollered Scotland 40-10 and they had now put the pressure on England.

So the final match between the old rivals of England and France, and a try fest to match all try fests.  It was you score, no you score, no after you, and the final score was England 55 v France 35, some last minute madness was just not enough for England and Ireland were crowned Champions again.

It really was a day for the calculator.
