Today was a head-down, catch-up writing day. I didn't have much time to spare for looking out of the window at what seemed to be a rather nice, spring-like day in our part of Kent. It was not until late afternoon, when I paused for a break, grabbed a coffee, and stuck my head outside to see this beautiful sky above my neighbour's cottage.

Spring is clearly on the way. Buds are breaking on the garden shrubs, daffodils are edging into yellow bloom in the lawn, and the almond tree is in full blossom, which may be a blip for another day.

It will soon be Easter, then April, and properly into spring. This has felt like a particularly long winter, so it can't come a moment too soon.
