Shiny!

I'm not sure if this will come across in a photo if you don't know the scene. When Bertie and I do one of our 'quick' walks it takes us along the canal, across a very busy road, through Waitrose's car park and then up this VERY steep footpath into lovely little roads of cottages that gradually wind up the hill to where we live.

On this STEEP footpath is a handrail to help lever yourself up, or grasp to slow yourself if coming down. It was obviously painted completely at some point but over the years the paint has been worn away but not only that the wear of hands has burnished the metal to the most incredible polished shine. at the exact points where the most leverage or slowing down is needed! I love it!
