Bridge

Along the canal in Stroud are lots of these beautiful old bridges. Built in the 1800's the bridges gave access from the cottages and villages on the hillside down across the canal to the mill building all along th canal.

Nowadays they give access for walkers up to the hills and the common above, Bertie and I very often walk the mile or so along the canal to here and then use this bridge to cross over and climb up to the common.
