Forest of Dean

An unusual car event today. Seat has chosen the Forest of Dean as the venue for its new Leon X-Perience launch, and we are staying in log cabins. Dinner was in a giant tepee, and afterwards we went walking in the dark with a ranger to guide us, and were all equipped with night vision viewers to observe any wildlife that happened to be around.

We saw one fox, two rabbits and a dozen deer. No wild boar though, although the forest is home to about 400 of them.

We heard that last week a wild boar was spotted under one of the log cabins, which are built on stilts with a space underneath. It was thought be to injured, so the ranger went to check. It transpired that it was a wild boar sow, newly delivered of six tiny piglets. After a rest, she trotted off into the forest with her new babies.
