River Dipping.

It we getting towards dusk when we took the dogs out today and this dipper was out looking for his supper, which reminds me; when we first moved to Edinburgh just over forty years ago, I noticed some strange messages over shop frontages, one of which was a shoe shop offering "a supper selection." The poster stayed up for a long time. The low lighting has made the image a bit soft and noisy but you can still see quite clearly that these few rocks are regular dipper perches from the strange white deposits on them.

Two other shops were, "Carswell's Ladies and Gents Alterations," a concept that brought tears to my eyes and the "Omar Khayyam Off Licence." The literary portion of my education suggested that the latter should have been selling camping gear.
