Gateway to Summer

Just when blip desperation was beginning to creep in on the walk to Bruntsfield this morning with His Lordship, a man averse to breaking stride while I deliberate on the photographing of the last crocus of spring or the first expanse of Easter daffodils, he came good and pointed out this floral arrangement in a shop doorway.

There is something very summery and uplifting about flowers, even artificial ones, against a sky blue background. One can almost imagine the real thing, not that there is anything to complain about today, which has turned up trumps with sunshine and little hint of the winds to come.
