Requiem Rehearsal

This is a busy weekend with two concerts in two days as I sing in two choirs. Usually the concert dates are not quite so close together. During a break in rehearsal I wandered around with the camera to find a blip (as one does) and photographed various aspects of musical instruments. The reflections in the bell of the trombone and the timpani were very interesting but I settled on this image of the score for the Requiem with the harp in the background.

This performance is with Tring Choral Society with two works on the programme. 'Four Sacred Pieces' by Verdi and Faure's 'Requiem'. The Verdi is very difficult, especially as two pieces are unaccompanied and it is very easy to go out of tune. We did well this afternoon so let's hope we haven't peaked too soon! The Requiem is so very beautiful and not as easy as we would like to think.

This programme is demanding on both choir and orchestra so we will have earned our drink afterwards in the 'Robin Hood!
